A couple that posed as prospective buyers at a car dealership in Viljoensdrift, near Vereeniging, surprised a salesperson when they pointed a firearm at him and ordered him to get off the vehicle during a test drive.
Police say the man and a woman, aged between 30 and 35 years old, arrived at a second-hand dealership pretending to be interested in buying a Polo 6 vehicle and the salesperson, who is now the complainant in the matter, took them for a test drive.
And while on the test drive, the suspects stopped on the side of the road and pointed at the complainant with a firearm and ordered him to get out of the vehicle.
“The complainant refused and a fist fight ensued until he was hit with a firearm . . . and was left on the side of the road,” the police said in a statement.
The male was wearing a blue scotch shirt and dark pants, while his hair was cut.
The female suspect was wearing a blue striped overall dress with a brown long wig.
Police have requested anyone with information on the suspects, or recognises their faces, to contact Detective Warrant Officer Leon De Klerk on 072 484 9046 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
Alternatively they can send information via the MySAPS App.
