Staff Reporter Renowned Sesotho author Dr Kgotso Pieter Maphalla has died. He was 66. The SABC reported on Monday evening that Maphalla, popularly known as KPD, had suffered a stroke. It said Maphalla published more than 70 Sesotho literary works, most of which have been prescribed for schools and tertiary institutions. The prolific writer received several accolades for his work including lifetime achiever awards. Among others, he received an honorary doctorate from the University of the Free State in 2007.
