Staff Reporter The Free State province says it will employ 1 000 nurses from the beginning of April as it steps up efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Staff Reporter The Free State is yet to record a single case of the novel coronavirus, but the provincial government is expected to brief the media on Wednesday afternoon on its state of readiness and plans to mitigate the spread of the virus, also known as COVID-19. The briefing, set for 2pm at the President Hotel in Bloemfontein, follows a special Executive Council (EXCO) meeting on Monday after President Cyril Ramaphosa declared COVID-19 a national disaster a day earlier.
