Staff Reporter At least 57 people in the Free State are known to have succumbed to COVID-19, according to statistics released Sunday evening. The province now has 9 004 confirmed cases of the acute respiratory disease with 1 103 recoveries. The latest figure puts the Free State’s case fatality rate at 0.6 percent. Lejweleputswa district, which has recorded 19 deaths, has the most fatalities in the province, followed by Mangaung. As of July 9, the disease had claimed 19 lives and the province had a total of 3 724 confirmed cases.
