The Bloemfontein Regional Court has slapped a 39-year-old man from Bloemspruit with two life sentences after it found him guilty of raping two boys over three years ago.
Lepita Nkoto, a cattle herder from Lesotho, was handed the two long sentences by the sexual offences court on Monday.
The court heard during trial that on October 24, 2017, Nkoto came across the two boys — then aged six and four years old — playing near their homes in Bloemspruit Phase 10.
He is said to have called them to nearby bushes and raped the older one.
The suspect, according to the police, then gave them R5 each and told them not to tell anyone or else he will kill them.
Three days later on October 27, he called the boys again and this time round he raped the four-year-old one.
Again, he gave them R5 each before letting them go.
The six-year-old boy told one of his friends about the ordeal and the friend informed the elders.
Bloemspruit police were informed of the incident and the man was immediately arrested on two counts of rape.
