Police in Virginia have launched a manhunt after a 56-year-old man was found dead in his house with his car plus household appliances missing.
Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Sam Makhele said in a statement the lifeless body of Leslie Mosikidi was discovered by his live-in partner at his home in Saai Plaas, Virginia, on Monday morning.
“The body of the deceased was found lying in the lounge, with blood coming from his nose and mouth . . .” read part of the statement.
It’s believed the woman tried to resuscitate him but realised that he was already dead and immediately alerted the neighbours who in turn called the Virginia police.
“On closer inspection it was realised that two plasma television sets, the deceased’s wallet, shoes and cellphone were missing,” said the police statement.
“She ran to the garage where she realised that the deceased’s blue Mercedes Benz 1997 model with registration FWM785 FS was also missing.”
Makhele said the police are now investigating cases of murder and house robbery.
He appealed to the local community as well as other people with information which might help to trace the suspects and the stolen vehicle to come forward and assist the police.
