The protests, known as Mangaung shutdown, officially ended on Wednesday following two days of protracted negotiations between Ntombela and her executive council, the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality and representatives of the Mangaung Community Concern.
“The (provincial government) remains committed to working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that service delivery issues in Mangaung, raised by the community, are attended to expeditiously,” the statement added.
