Celtic respond to unpaid salaries claim

Bloemfontein Celtic chief executive officer Khumbulani Konco has dismissed claims of unpaid salaries at his club.

Celtic are reported to have failed to pay both their players’ and technical team’s full salaries last month.

Siwelele have had financial problems in the past but the situation seemed to have improved before football was suspended due to the coronavirus.

Konco has now come out to clear up the allegations of unpaid salaries for some of the staff members at the club.

“I don’t know where you get those reports bhuti,” Konco tells KickOff.com.

“As far as I am concerned we paid both our players and technical team staff, unless you want to tell me something I don’t know.

“If there is someone saying he was not paid his full salary, please call him and I will then respond to that particular person’s claim.”

AmaZulu and other GladAfrica Championship teams including Real Kings, Royal Eagles and TTM are reported to have failed to pay their players’ full salaries last month.

Cape Town City boss John Comitis has hinted that he might cut the salaries of his players if the league does not resume soon.

Highlands Park have also confirmed that a small percentage of their playing staff including Tendai Ndoro have had 20 percent of their salaries cut. – Kick Off
